【South Korea】K-Beauty Stocks Rebound as Export Surge and Amazon Prime Day Success Draw Investor Attention

Buyer note

This analysis draws on Korea Investment & Securities export data and Amazon Prime Day performance to confirm sustained global demand for K-beauty. For buyers, the 23.5% export surge and rising European market share signal strong supply-chain opportunities, while regulatory or tariff risks remain unaddressed.

After being overlooked during the semiconductor-driven rally, K-beauty stocks are regaining investor attention on the back of record export figures and strong Amazon Prime Day sales. For overseas buyers and distributors, this signals sustained global demand for Korean cosmetic products and potential supply-chain opportunities.

## Export data confirms K-beauty momentum

According to Korea Investment & Securities, Korean cosmetic exports from June 1 to 20 rose 23.5% year-on-year. In May, exports reached $1.18 billion, up 24.2% from the same month last year, marking the highest May figure on record. April saw $1.354 billion in exports, the highest monthly total this year.

## Amazon Prime Day boosts sentiment

Market observers note that K-beauty brands performed well during Amazon Prime Day held from June 23 to 26 (local time), stimulating investor sentiment. This has raised expectations for improved second-quarter earnings among Korean cosmetic companies.

## Stock market reflects optimism

As of 11:30 a.m. on June 29, Amorepacific rose 17.63% to 114,100 won, Kolmar Korea gained 8.93% to 98,800 won, and APR climbed 3.86% to 377,000 won. Dalba Global also surged over 7% early in the session to 240,000 won. Among 65 cosmetic stocks, 55 rose, 4 were flat, and only 6 declined.

## Analyst views on K-beauty growth cycle

Park Hyun-jin of Shinhan Investment Securities said, "Korea's cosmetic export ratio relative to production is approaching 70%, and the trade surplus has expanded to about 12 trillion won. With product lines and sales regions expanding simultaneously in developed markets, K-beauty exports appear to have entered a mid-to-long-term growth cycle."

Kwon Woo-jung of Kyobo Securities added, "As of June 26, K-beauty products accounted for 29% of the top 100 beauty & personal care items on Amazon US, and 38% in the skincare category. Market share is also steadily increasing in the UK, Italy, and France, and Europe's growth potential remains high."

## Sourcing context

Park Jong-hyun of Daol Investment Securities noted that Dalba Global is expected to see growth exceeding market expectations, driven by expanded Cia B2B orders and strong sales in North America and Europe. For importers and distributors, this suggests robust OEM/ODM demand and potential for new partnerships with Korean manufacturers.
