Official Product Launch and Academic Marketing at GAS Conference; Targeting 9% Market Share This Year

[PRESS9] Hugel has entered the Indian aesthetic medicine market with its botulinum toxin ‘Letybo’. India, home to the world’s largest population, is considered a rapidly growing market for aesthetic medical services. With this local launch, Hugel aims to achieve a 9% market share this year, accelerating its global business expansion.

Hugel announced on the 22nd that it participated in the ‘Global Aesthetics Summit (GAS)’ held in Goa, India, from the 19th to the 21st, officially marking the entry of botulinum toxin ‘Letybo’ into the Indian market.

Together with its local distribution partner Aakaar Medical, Hugel introduced the product and conducted academic programs for medical professionals. Australian aesthetic medicine specialist Dr. Benjamin Chan gave a lecture on the diffusion characteristics and clinical experience of Letybo.

The company plans to continue product launch events and hands-on workshops after the event to expand collaboration with local medical professionals.

Hugel’s focus on India is driven by its growth potential. With a population of approximately 1.5 billion and a rapidly expanding middle class, India is seeing increasing demand for aesthetic medical services. However, the penetration rate of botulinum toxin procedures remains low compared to major developed countries. Industry experts believe the market has significant growth potential due to rising incomes, growing interest in K-beauty, and the advancement of medical services.

Hugel has set a target of securing a 9% market share in the Indian aesthetic market this year. To achieve this, the company plans to expand academic exchanges with local key opinion leaders (KOLs) and focus on enhancing brand awareness.

This entry into India is also seen as an extension of Hugel’s global expansion strategy. Hugel has been expanding approvals and sales of Letybo in key markets such as the United States, Europe, and China, while broadening its business base in high-growth emerging markets. The company plans to use India as a hub to expand sales across the Asia-Pacific region.

“India is a market with high interest in K-aesthetics,” said Hugel CEO Jang Doo-hyun. “Based on Letybo’s competitiveness, we will strengthen our expansion in the Indian market and reinforce our global growth foundation.”
