【Hangzhou, Ch】Huons Group Launches ‘HUTOX’ in China: Showcasing K-Botulinum Technology Through Academic Symposium

Editor’s Note

This article reports on the successful launch symposium for HUTOX, a botulinum toxin product by Huons Group, held in Hangzhou. It highlights the growing influence of South Korean aesthetic medicine technology in China’s market.

‘HUTOX Launch Symposium’ Successfully Held in Hangzhou

South Korea’s botulinum toxin technology is accelerating its penetration into China, one of the world’s largest aesthetic medicine markets. Beyond simple product launches, academic-focused marketing—sharing clinical data and procedural expertise—is expanding, drawing renewed global attention to the technological competitiveness of K-Medical Aesthetics.

Huons Group’s subsidiaries, HuMeds and Huons BioPharma, held a launch symposium for their botulinum toxin product ‘HUTOX’ in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. The event introduced the product’s clinical applications and latest treatment trends to local medical professionals.

The symposium was organized by Chinese partner IMeik Technology. Alongside the official product launch, an academic program for medical professionals was conducted, marking the first step into the Chinese medical aesthetics market.

HUTOX is a prescription drug based on botulinum toxin type A. It works by selectively blocking signal transmission between nerves and muscles, alleviating excessive muscle contractions. This mechanism is used to improve expression wrinkles, such as frown lines and crow’s feet, and is also widely applied in various therapeutic areas.

Recently, the global medical aesthetics market has seen growing interest in precision procedures—beyond simple wrinkle reduction—focusing on facial muscle balance, natural expression maintenance, and personalized treatment plans. Consequently, not only product quality but also the sharing of clinical experience and treatment protocols among medical professionals is considered a key competitive factor.

At this symposium, Dr. Kim Geon-woo, Director of Cheongdam Cellinic Clinic, participated as a speaker, presenting global botulinum toxin treatment trends and real-world clinical application cases.

“The lecture introduced treatment strategies based on patient characteristics, product utilization methods, and clinical operation know-how considering safety. It also provided a time for academic exchange with Chinese medical professionals to share the latest treatment experiences.”

Industry insiders view this academic-centered collaboration as a crucial process that extends beyond product sales to medical professional education, clinical standardization, and global network building.

HUTOX obtained product approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) earlier this year, laying the foundation for its entry into the Chinese market.

Previously, Chinese partner IMeik Technology secured exclusive import and distribution rights for mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. With this launch symposium, the company plans to expand cooperation with local medical institutions to accelerate market penetration.

HuMeds supported the symposium by leveraging its domestic medical professional network to secure speakers and operate academic programs, while Huons BioPharma contributed to enhancing global brand awareness.

Recently, the Asian medical aesthetics market, including China, has seen a growing consumer trend emphasizing high-quality procedures and natural results, leading to increased interest in botulinum toxin products with proven safety and clinical data.

Industry experts note that this HUTOX launch symposium is significant not only for the product launch but also for introducing the clinical experience and procedural skills of Korean medical professionals, thereby enhancing the expertise and credibility of K-Medical Aesthetics.
