**Editor’s Note:** This article highlights Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s strategic push into Indonesia’s medical aesthetics market by inviting local professionals for clinical training. The initiative underscores the growing influence of Korean beauty standards abroad and the company’s ambition to establish its filler and lifting products in the region.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical, together with its affiliate CGBIO, is targeting Indonesia’s medical aesthetics market. Through clinical training for local medical professionals, the company aims to expand its market presence by promoting its filler and lifting product lines. The strategy is to transplant Korean medical aesthetic standards into Indonesia.
According to The Clinic Beautylosophy in Jakarta, Indonesia, on the 23rd (local time), Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s Indonesian subsidiary and CGBIO conducted the ‘Korean Faculty Training Series’ from the 9th to the 12th at beauty clinics in the Jakarta area.
On the third day of the program, a session held at The Clinic Beautylosophy gathered aesthetic doctors from clinics across Indonesia to intensively study the combination strategy of their product ‘DCLASSY’, which combines hyaluronic acid (HA) filler and calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) collagen stimulator.
During this session, the Korean medical team provided training explaining that while HA fillers provide rapid effects in volume correction and contouring, CaHA collagen stimulators are effective in stimulating collagen production to improve skin elasticity and tissue quality over the long term. Combining the two procedures allows for immediate shape correction and continuous skin quality improvement, making it a suitable strategy for patients seeking more effective results.
The international academic community is also paying attention to the combination of HA and CaHA as an approach that simultaneously supports tissue structure, rearranges soft tissue, and improves skin quality. Daewoong Pharmaceutical explained that the practitioner’s understanding of material properties, injection techniques, dosage, and site selection is a crucial factor in clinical settings.
In addition to fillers, the latest trends in Korean medical aesthetics were also introduced during this training. Specialist Dr. Jang Doo-yeol presented the procedure ‘Naboglow’ using botulinum toxin and a new thread lift product ‘DOOTH’ featuring a ‘T’-shaped design.
The two companies plan to accelerate their攻势 in the local market, using this training as a springboard. According to a Ministry of Health announcement citing data from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), approximately 29 million people, or about 12% of Indonesia’s population, are already classified as elderly. This proportion is expected to increase to 20% by 2045. The companies anticipate that the growing elderly population will drive demand for scientifically-based facial rejuvenation procedures.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical and CGBIO plan to expand ongoing educational programs so that Indonesian aesthetic doctors can acquire global-standard clinical knowledge within their own country without relying on overseas training, building on this educational initiative.
