**Editor’s Note:** KOVICS Co., Ltd. has secured an 800 million won cosmetics supply contract with China’s TIENS Group, signaling a strategic push into global markets. This partnership underscores the growing international reach of South Korean bio firms.

Contract Details and Expansion Plans

KOVICS Co., Ltd., a bio company based in Namwon City, North Jeolla Province, has signed a cosmetics supply contract with TIENS, a global distribution company in China, marking a step toward expanding into overseas markets.
According to Namwon City on the 27th, KOVICS recently signed an initial supply contract worth 800 million won with the TIENS Group in China.
The agreement was finalized after TIENS Group officials visited KOVICS’ headquarters and production plant in Namwon in June to discuss cooperation plans.
KOVICS will initially supply cosmetics such as serums, toners, ampoules, and eye creams, and plans to expand the product range to include household items like shampoos, conditioners, and body washes in the future.
TIENS Group, headquartered in Tianjin, China, is a global company operating in 224 countries and regions, based on biotechnology healthcare and e-commerce.
KOVICS expects related sales to exceed 20 billion won next year by leveraging TIENS’ distribution network.
KOVICS, a specialized cosmetics OEM/ODM company, has also maintained partnerships with overseas companies such as China’s Miorio and the UK’s LPC.
The city evaluated this contract as an example of the technological capabilities and export competitiveness of local bio companies.
Namwon City operates a bio company nurturing system centered on the Namwon Bio Industry Research Institute, covering everything from natural bio-material R&D to product development, testing and certification, customized technical support for companies, and support for overseas market entry.

“With this cooperation with TIENS as an opportunity, we will further expand our global market presence and secure stable overseas sales channels,” said Kim Jong-hoe, CEO of KOVICS. “Based on continuous R&D and strengthened quality competitiveness, we will leap forward as a global manufacturing company leading K-Beauty.”
“The overseas expansion of local bio companies is a representative achievement showing the growth potential of Namwon’s bio industry,” said Namwon Mayor Yang Choong-mo. “We will continue to expand corporate support policies to accelerate the development of Namwon City into a representative bio industry hub in South Korea.”
