Namwon Bio Company KOVICS Signs 800 Million Won Export Contract with China’s TIENS… Accelerating Global Market Expansion

A local bio company has signed a large-scale supply contract with a global distribution company, accelerating its entry into overseas markets.
As the bio-industry support system established by Namwon City leads to tangible export results, expectations for strengthening regional industrial competitiveness are also growing.
Namwon City announced on the 27th that KOVICS Co., Ltd., a local bio company, has signed a supply contract with the TIENS Group, a Chinese global network sales company, for an initial cosmetic shipment worth 800 million won.
This contract was finalized after TIENS Group officials visited KOVICS’ headquarters and production plant in Namwon City in June to discuss cooperation plans for supplying cosmetics and household goods. KOVICS plans to initially supply cosmetics such as serums, toners, ampoules, and eye creams, and later expand to household goods including shampoos, conditioners, and body washes.
TIENS Group, headquartered in Tianjin, China, is a global network sales company operating in 224 countries and regions worldwide, based on biotechnology healthcare and e-commerce. Through this collaboration, KOVICS expects to generate over 20 billion won in sales from TIENS’ distribution network alone next year.
KOVICS, an R&D-based cosmetic OEM/ODM specialist, has established partnerships with various domestic and international brands. It has been expanding its business scope in the global market by strengthening partnerships with overseas companies such as China’s Miorio and the UK’s LPC, and this contract is expected to serve as a stepping stone for further expanding overseas sales channels.
This achievement is seen as a tangible outcome of Namwon City’s corporate support policies, which have been promoted to foster the bio-industry as a future growth engine.
The city has been enhancing the competitiveness of local bio companies by operating a full-cycle support system centered on the Namwon Bio-Industry Research Institute, covering everything from natural bio-material R&D to cosmetic testing and certification, product development, customized technical support for companies, and support for overseas market entry.

“This collaboration with TIENS will allow us to further expand our global market presence and secure stable overseas sales channels,” said Kim Jong-hoe, CEO of KOVICS Co., Ltd. “Through continuous R&D and strengthening quality competitiveness, we will grow into a global manufacturing company leading K-Beauty.”
“The overseas expansion of local bio companies is a representative achievement demonstrating the growth potential of Namwon’s bio-industry,” said Namwon Mayor Yang Choong-mo. “We will continue to expand corporate support policies to foster Namwon as a representative bio-industry hub city in South Korea.”
