[The Fact | Reporter Yoo Yeon-seok] APR announced on the 27th that it has been selected as the lead organization for a national project to internalize core components and system technologies for beauty devices, and has begun full-scale project operation.
According to APR, on the 23rd, it held the ‘Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Semiconductor Advanced Industry Technology Development Project Selection Kick-off Meeting’ at Lotte World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
This event was organized to share the phased goals and project implementation plans of the semiconductor advanced industry technology development project promoted by the Ministry of Industry.
APR was selected as the lead organization for this project last month, and together with participating organizations, it will carry out the project for a total of 4 years from 2026 to 2029. The consortium is expected to receive funding totaling 7.6 billion won.
The core of this project lies in internalizing the core components and system technologies that determine the competitiveness of beauty device products. APR plans to conduct research on system semiconductors that determine device output stability, miniaturization, and power efficiency.
Through this, the company aims to reduce dependence on external components and secure a beauty tech technology platform combined with hardware. The development outcomes will be expanded and applied to home care devices and core module platforms for beauty devices in the future.
Since starting its beauty device business in 2021, APR has been pushing for technology enhancement. In 2022, it established ADC, a beauty device R&D organization, and is currently working on internalizing core technologies and filing patents.
Meanwhile, APR is receiving global attention, having been selected for TIME’s ‘2026 TIME100 Most Influential Companies’ announced by the U.S. economic current affairs weekly.
In 2025, it surpassed $1 billion in annual sales, and the overseas portion of total sales rose 25 percentage points year-on-year to 80%, showcasing its status as a global company.
