Editor’s Note

**Editor’s Note:** Yonwoo’s recent Packaging Summit drew over 200 attendees from 100 companies, underscoring the industry’s focus on megatrends and global quality strategies in cosmetic packaging.

Yonwoo Packaging Summit Held: Over 200 Attendees from 100 Domestic and International Companies

Yonwoo, a cosmetic packaging manufacturer and subsidiary of Korea Kolmar, announced on the 22nd that it successfully held the ‘Yonwoo Packaging Summit: Packaging Megatrends and Global Quality Strategy Seminar’ on the 21st at the Korea Kolmar Comprehensive Technology Institute auditorium.

Since opening the ‘Yonwoo Seongsu’ showroom in Seongsu-dong, Seoul in 2024, Yonwoo has been holding monthly ‘PTR (Packaging Trend Report) Briefing Days.’ In particular, the December event last year received a positive response from industry professionals by presenting new product launch trends and future directions. This time, the company expanded the scale into a large-scale seminar covering the entire industry.

Seminar Focuses on Packaging Trends and EU PPWR Compliance Strategies

This seminar was the first large-scale event in the cosmetics industry to focus on packaging trends and quality strategies. It was attended by over 200 people from 100 companies, including domestic and international cosmetic brands, ODM/OEM companies, beauty B2B platforms, and packaging and raw material suppliers.

The seminar was organized to review this year’s cosmetic packaging trends and to prepare for the implementation of the European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The goal was to provide practical insights to participating companies by sharing packaging standards and quality guidelines for European exports.

The PPWR is a packaging regulation that will be directly applied to all 27 EU member states starting August 12. Its core requirements include designing packaging for easy recycling and increasing the use of recycled materials. From 2030 onwards, regulations will be phased in, requiring all packaging distributed within the EU to meet recyclability standards.

The event began with an opening address by Yonwoo CEO Park Sang-yong, followed by congratulatory speeches from Korea Kolmar CEO Choi Hyun-kyu and Craeber CEO Jeon Hang-il. Presentations covered topics including:
– Analysis and outlook of 2026 beauty packaging trends
– Risks and response strategies following PPWR implementation
– Yonwoo’s quality competitiveness in the global beauty market

Yonwoo plans to regularize trend seminars and quality guide sharing sessions starting with this summit, strengthening ongoing communication with its clients. The company also intends to expand collaborative activities with Korea Kolmar to enhance synergy across design, formulation, and package development.

“This seminar was a meaningful occasion that went beyond simple information delivery to showcase Yonwoo’s differentiated quality competitiveness,” a Yonwoo representative said. “Based on our quality competitiveness, we plan to strengthen customer trust and build solid partnerships.”

Meanwhile, Yonwoo, established in 1983, is a comprehensive cosmetic packaging company. It was the first in Korea to produce cosmetic dispenser pumps and holds the technological capability to have first commercialized the ‘airless pump.’
