This article reports on Yonwoo’s inaugural Packaging Summit, which drew 200 attendees from 100 companies to discuss EU PPWR responses and global quality strategies in cosmetic packaging.
[Yakup News] Yonwoo, a cosmetic packaging manufacturer and subsidiary of Kolmar Korea, announced on the 22nd that it held the ‘Yonwoo Packaging Summit: Packaging Megatrend and Global Quality Strategy Seminar’ on the 21st at the Kolmar Korea R&D Center Grand Auditorium.
This event is the industry’s first large-scale seminar themed around cosmetic packaging trends and quality strategies. Approximately 200 people from 100 companies attended, including domestic and international cosmetic brands, ODM/OEM companies, beauty B2B platforms, and packaging/raw material suppliers.
Since opening its showroom ‘Yonwoo Seongsu’ in Seongsu-dong, Seoul in 2024, Yonwoo has been sharing packaging trends by holding a monthly ‘PTR (Packaging Trend Report) Briefing Day’. Following the introduction of new product launch trends and future trends at the event last December, this seminar was expanded into a large-scale event involving the entire industry.
The seminar was organized to review this year’s cosmetic packaging trends and share strategies to respond to the implementation of the European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). It also covered packaging standards for European exports and quality management directions required in the global market.
PPWR is a packaging regulation that will be directly applied to the 27 EU member states starting August 12th. Its main contents include designing packaging that is easy to recycle and expanding the use of recycled raw materials. From 2030, packaging distributed within the EU must meet recyclability standards.
The event began with a welcome speech by Yonwoo CEO Park Sang-yong, followed by congratulatory remarks from Kolmar Korea CEO Choi Hyun-kyu and Craeber CEO Jeon Hang-il. Subsequently, presentations were given on the topics of ‘2026 Beauty Packaging Trend Analysis and Outlook’, ‘Risks and Response Strategies Following PPWR Implementation’, and ‘Yonwoo’s Quality Competitiveness in Response to the Global Beauty Market’.
Starting with this seminar, Yonwoo plans to regularize packaging trend seminars and quality guide sharing to strengthen communication with its clients. It also plans to expand collaborative activities with Kolmar Korea to increase cooperation in design, formulation, and package development processes.
