【South Korea】Hugel Launches HA Filler ‘TheChaeum Signature’ with Enhanced Safety

Editor’s Note

**Editor’s Note:** Hugel has introduced TheChaeum Signature, a new HA filler designed to improve safety by reducing cross-linking agents. The four-product lineup offers tailored options for medical professionals, reflecting the company’s ongoing R&D efforts to strengthen its filler portfolio.

New Product Launch

Hugel announced on the 20th that it has launched a new hyaluronic acid (HA) filler product, ‘TheChaeum Signature’, which enhances safety by minimizing the use of cross-linking agents.
TheChaeum Signature is a product line that embodies Hugel’s R&D achievements aimed at advancing the competitiveness of its HA filler lineup. It consists of four products with a broad spectrum of physical properties, allowing medical professionals to choose based on the treatment area and purpose.
Typically, HA fillers undergo a cross-linking process to maintain hyaluronic acid, which is easily degraded in the body, in a stable gel form. TheChaeum Signature applies the ‘MPC method’, a proprietary technology of affiliate ‘Across’, reducing the amount of cross-linking agent used by over 50% compared to conventional manufacturing processes, while maximizing cross-linking efficiency through a special process using high-concentration HA raw materials.
Another feature is that through a multi-purification process lasting about two weeks—longer than standard manufacturing processes—it significantly reduces residual cross-linking agent (BDDE) as well as micro-hydrolysis byproducts (BDPE) that may arise during the cross-linking stage, thereby enhancing safety and quality.
Despite minimizing the use of cross-linking agents, it maintains the firm physical properties and durability that were the strengths of the existing ‘TheChaeum Premium’ line.

“We will continue to strengthen product competitiveness and safety, and further build trust with both medical professionals and consumers,” said Jang Doo-hyun, CEO of Hugel.
