【South Korea 】K-Haircare Dr.ForHair, Chosen by Sephora, Begins Full-Scale North American Market Expansion

Editor’s Note

**Editor’s Note:** Dr.ForHair has expanded its North American distribution network by listing on Sephora, following earlier entries into Amazon and Costco.

Sephora Listing Follows Amazon and Costco, Expanding Core North American Distribution Network

Following Amazon and Costco, Dr.ForHair has now entered Sephora, significantly expanding its core distribution network in North America.

‘Science-Based Scalp Care’ with 360,000 Scalp Data Points as Competitive Edge

As K-beauty’s global popularity rapidly expands beyond skincare and makeup into haircare, domestic haircare brands emphasizing functionality and professionalism are gaining presence in overseas markets.
In particular, Dr.ForHair, another flagship brand of Wyatt (which is already targeting the global market with its Anob brand), is drawing attention for its aggressive push into the North American market, leveraging its listing on Sephora, a leading premium beauty retail channel in the U.S.
According to an announcement on the 28th, Dr.ForHair will begin with its entry into Sephora’s U.S. online mall, then introduce products in 85 stores operating the ‘K-Hair Tower’ by the end of this month, and expand its sales network to 205 offline stores across the U.S. by August.
The strategy is to simultaneously increase brand awareness and consumer touchpoints through Sephora, one of the largest beauty consumption channels in North America.
This listing is an extension of Dr.ForHair’s distribution strategy built in the U.S. market. Starting with its entry into Costco in 2021, the brand has achieved steady sales on Amazon, and recently expanded to TikTok Shop, establishing a sales foundation encompassing both online and offline channels. With the addition of Sephora, the brand is now evaluated to have secured most of the key distribution channels in the U.S. market.
Notably, the fact that Sephora selected Dr.ForHair as one of its representative brands while fostering ‘K-Hair’ as a strategic category is considered significant.
This is interpreted as a case showing that while K-beauty has grown centered on skincare, consumer interest is now expanding to include scalp and hair care.
Accordingly, Dr.ForHair plans to introduce its ‘Mobile Scalp Diagnosis’ program, which has been operating in Korea, to the U.S., going beyond simple product sales. The strategy involves actively promoting brand professionalism by providing professional scalp analysis and customized management solutions, along with local marketing efforts such as influencer collaborations and scalp care education.
Behind this competitiveness lies extensive R&D and data. Dr.ForHair has operated its own scalp care center for 14 years, the first and only one in the domestic industry, accumulating over 360,000 scalp diagnosis data points.
Based on this, the ‘Polygen Thickening Shampoo’ has surpassed 30 million units in cumulative domestic sales, establishing itself as a representative functional shampoo for alleviating hair loss symptoms, and is also driving the brand’s overseas growth.

“We expect the recent growth of the global haircare market to present new opportunities for K-beauty,” said a Dr.ForHair official. “We will strengthen cooperation with Sephora and continuously expand localized marketing efforts to establish K-haircare as a new category across North America, including the United States.”
