Editor’s Note
Following a NAS inspection, a Trento beauty center has been suspended due to severe hygiene deficiencies and lack of proper sterilization procedures. A piece of equipment was also seized.
A beauty center in Trento was suspended from activity after an inspection by the Carabinieri of the Anti-Adulteration and Health Unit (NAS), who found severe hygienic-sanitary deficiencies and the absence of adequate procedures for sterilizing instruments used on clients. During the inspection, the military also seized a piece of equipment, a type of small oven declared by the operator as a device intended for sterilization. However, checks revealed that the equipment was lacking the CE mark, declaration of conformity, and any documentation related to its use and maintenance. For these violations, Article 112 of the Consumer Code was cited, with an administrative fine of 3,000 euros. The beauty center’s activity will remain suspended until the non-conformities are resolved, both in terms of sterilization procedures and hygienic-sanitary conditions.

The intervention also serves as an opportunity to highlight the importance of prevention. As the NAS emphasizes, hygiene and proper sterilization of instruments are essential requirements to ensure safety within a beauty center and reduce the risk of disease transmission, from dermatitis to fungal infections, and even more serious illnesses in case of direct contact with blood through contaminated instruments.

The NAS of Trento maintains high vigilance over the sector of beauty centers and hair salons, checking the hygienic conditions of premises, the conformity of equipment used, and the correct application of procedures required by regulations. Citizens who encounter severe and evident situations of non-conformity can report them directly to the NAS of Trento by calling 0461 986296 or writing to [email protected].
