【Las Vegas, U】Cosmoprof North America: “North American Buyers Focus on Ingredients and Efficacy Over K-Beauty”

Editor’s Note

**Editor’s Note:** This article examines a notable shift in North American buyer behavior, where ingredient transparency, proven efficacy, and sustainability are now prioritized over the K-beauty label alone.

North American Buyers Prioritize Ingredients and Efficacy Over K-Beauty

Amid growing global interest in K-beauty, North American buyers are becoming increasingly discerning. Analysis suggests a shift towards scrutinizing product ingredients, efficacy, clinical data, and brand sustainability, rather than simply relying on the “K-beauty” label.

Bio-clinical beauty brand Themedicotem, in a recent follow-up interview with Beauty Economy at Cosmoprof North America Las Vegas 2026, stated that North American buyers’ interest is moving towards product strength and brand competitiveness.

“This exhibition was a place where we could directly feel the global K-beauty craze,” a Themedicotem representative said. “In the past, interest was in K-beauty’s recognition and trends, but now there are many questions about whether a brand has the competitiveness for long-term growth and whether products can actually solve consumers’ skin concerns.”
“There has been a noticeable increase in buyers who carefully verify product reliability, such as key ingredient content, efficacy, and clinical trial status,” they added.
North American Buyer Interest: Brightening and Dark Spot Care

At Cosmoprof North America 2026, Themedicotem’s booth attracted attention with its flagship products: the ‘Illuminating White Ampoule’ and ‘Illuminating Aurora Emulsion Mask.’

In particular, product lines featuring bio-formula technology, along with upcoming launches like ‘Double White Illuminating Essence’ and ‘Double White Illuminating Lotion,’ drew interest from overseas buyers.

According to Themedicotem, the new essence and lotion, containing 5% Niacinamide, received high praise for their non-sticky, lightweight texture.

“Interest in brightening, dark spot care, and achieving clear, clean skin is rising among North American consumers,” the company explained. “The concept of ‘glass skin’ radiant care, popular among Korean women, aligns well with local demand.”

The flagship ‘Illuminating White Ampoule’ also attracted buyers with its differentiated formula and ease of use. Its intensive care concept with high-concentration pro-collagen and individual packaging to maintain freshness were highlighted as key differentiators.

“Verifying Actual Sales Potential Over K-Beauty Possibility”

Another characteristic of this year’s exhibition was the more pragmatic shift in buyer interest.

Themedicotem reported that North American buyers now prioritize actual marketability and sales potential over product concepts.

There were many inquiries about whether products were listed on Amazon USA, with a focus on whether they offered differentiated functionality to solve American consumers’ skin concerns.

In terms of functionality, interest was high in products addressing long-term skin concerns such as anti-aging, lifting, contour management, and wrinkle improvement, in addition to dark spot correction and brightening.

“There is a strong tendency to prefer products with clear ingredients and efficacy that consumers can easily understand on digital sales channels, rather than simply sourcing and selling new products,” a company representative analyzed.
Securing Global Buyer Interest Despite First-Time Participation

Despite participating in Cosmoprof North America for the first time, Themedicotem conducted approximately 50-100 consultations and held meaningful meetings with about 20 new buyers and distribution partners.

Some buyers took samples for testing and expressed intent for further discussions, which are currently ongoing.

Consultations were held not only with buyers from the US but also from Canada, Central America, and Latin America, confirming potential for global market expansion.

Themedicotem stated its focus is on expanding brand awareness and building a global distribution network, rather than short-term contract results.

MoCRA Registration Completed… Targeting Amazon and TikTok Shop

Themedicotem plans to strengthen online distribution channels to expand into the North American market in the second half of the year.

It recently completed registration under the US cosmetics regulation MoCRA (Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act) and plans to open official brand stores on Amazon and TikTok Shop.

It also intends to expand content-driven digital marketing to effectively communicate the brand’s technology and product philosophy to North American consumers.

“We plan to broaden our contact points with North American consumers based on confidence in our product strength,” a Themedicotem representative stated.

Industry insiders evaluate Cosmoprof North America 2026 as an event demonstrating that interest in K-beauty in the North American market has moved beyond a simple trend into a phase of verifying actual product competitiveness.

The fact that buyers focused on ingredient content, efficacy, clinical data, and actual sales potential over brand recognition indicates that purchasing standards in the North American market are becoming more sophisticated.

Consequently, analysis suggests that the competitiveness of K-beauty brands in the North American market will be determined not merely by the image of ‘Korean cosmetics,’ but by product strength based on differentiated functionality, objective data, and consumer trust.
