The Ministry of Public Health warns against unauthorized ‘Body Filler’ injections, stressing they are medical procedures with serious health risks.
The Ministry of Public Health has raised the alarm over the proliferation of aesthetic ‘Body Filler’ injections offered outside the medical framework. In a statement released on July 16, 2026, Minister Dr. Manaouda Malachie reminded that these procedures fall exclusively within the realm of medical practice and warned of the health risks faced by patients.
The Ministry of Public Health has called for vigilance following the proliferation, on social networks and in certain private spaces, of offers for products presented as ‘Body Filler’. According to the statement signed by the Minister, these injections are offered for the purpose of increasing the volume of the buttocks, breasts, or other parts of the body, outside authorized health facilities.
The health authority recalled that injections of body filler products constitute medical acts that must be performed only by qualified health professionals, in approved establishments, and in accordance with current regulations. Any person who performs these acts outside this framework is liable to prosecution, and the competent authorities may be called upon to enforce the provisions provided for by law.
The Ministry also emphasized the dangers associated with the use of unauthorized products or those administered by persons lacking the required qualifications. The risks mentioned include severe infections, allergic reactions, deformities, chronic pain, migration of the product within the body, tissue necrosis, as well as other complications that could, in some cases, be life-threatening for patients.
Faced with this situation, the public is urged to exercise increased vigilance regarding offers relayed on social networks or proposed in unapproved locations. The Ministry recalled that no aesthetic medical procedure should be performed outside a regulated health framework and recommends that people wishing to undergo this type of procedure consult exclusively a qualified doctor or surgeon practicing in an authorized facility.
The statement finally specifies that the competent services will carry out the necessary checks and that any activity carried out in violation of the regulations will be subject to the administrative and judicial measures provided for by the texts in force. Through this warning, the Ministry reaffirms that patient safety remains a public health priority.
