The Ministry of Health has acquired an electro-hydraulic surgical table to upgrade the equipment at San Antonio Hospital in Gualeguay.

The unit is specially designed to provide flexibility in patient positioning during surgical interventions.

The acquisition required an investment of 42,828,000 pesos, financed by the Government of Entre Ríos.

The equipment uses continuous manual and hydraulic movements and features self-leveling, operated via remote control. It is suitable for use in various specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, traumatology, maxillofacial surgery, and gynecology, among others.

Regarding the impact on patient care, the coordinator of the Traumatology and Operating Room service, Gonzalo Jáuregui, explained:

“This is a tool that facilitates the work of professionals when performing an intervention, as it has multiple movements with various types of inclination—left, right, head, feet, forward, and backward.”

Finally, the professional highlighted that the table has different accessories that allow its use by various surgical specialties.

“For example, it has a kidney elevator that lifts the lumbar region to facilitate surgical access to the kidney, ureter, or thorax. It also includes complements for maxillofacial surgeries and a traction kit for traumatological procedures using a C-arm. This system allows for reducing fractures, such as those of the tibia or femur, and helps shorten surgical times,” concluded Jáuregui.
