Huons Group subsidiaries HuonsMedix and HuonsBioPharma held a symposium to announce the official launch of botulinum toxin ‘Hutox’ in China. This event was the first official launch after obtaining product approval from the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), and aimed to introduce clinical application cases and global usage trends of the product to local medical professionals.
Huons Group’s HuonsMedix (CEO Kang Min-jong) and HuonsBioPharma (CEO Lee Jung-hee) announced on the 20th that they held the ‘Hutox’ launch symposium on the 16th at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.
The event was hosted by HuonsBioPharma’s Chinese partner IMeik Technology, and featured the official launch of Hutox in the Chinese market along with an academic program for medical professionals.
At the symposium, Dr. Kim Gun-woo of Cheongdam Cellinic Clinic served as a speaker, presenting global botulinum toxin market trends and clinical application cases. Local Chinese medical professionals and industry officials attended the event to share product-related information.
Hutox is a prescription drug whose main ingredient is botulinum toxin, used for cosmetic purposes such as improving glabellar lines and crow’s feet, as well as in certain therapeutic areas.
Previously, IMeik signed a contract with HuonsBioPharma in 2022, securing exclusive import and distribution rights for Hutox in China (including Hong Kong and Macau). Subsequently, in January of this year, it obtained product approval for Hutox from the NMPA.
HuonsMedix supported the recruitment of domestic medical professionals and the operation of the academic program for this event.
Industry observers note that as the Chinese botulinum toxin market grows into one of the world’s largest aesthetic medical markets, competition among foreign companies to enter the market will continue. Huons Group also plans to intensify its push into the Chinese market through cooperation with local distribution partners.
