[Bizworld] Hugel has introduced a new HA filler product to strengthen its competitiveness.
Hugel announced on the 21st that it has launched ‘TheCharm Signature,’ which minimizes the use of crosslinking agents to enhance safety.
According to the company, TheCharm Signature consists of four products with a broad spectrum of physical properties, allowing medical professionals to choose based on the treatment area and purpose.
The product line is described as integrating the company’s R&D achievements.
Typically, HA fillers undergo a crosslinking process to maintain hyaluronic acid, which is easily broken down in the body, in a stable gel form.
For TheCharm Signature, the company explained that it applies the ‘MPC (Multi Purified Crosslinking) method,’ a proprietary technology of its affiliate ‘Across,’ which reduces the amount of crosslinking agent by over 50% compared to conventional manufacturing processes and maximizes crosslinking efficiency through a special process using high-concentration HA raw materials.
Additionally, the company stated that through a multi-purification process lasting about two weeks—longer than typical manufacturing processes—it significantly reduces residual crosslinking agent (BDDE) as well as micro-hydrolysis byproducts (BDPE) that can arise during the crosslinking stage.
