Turkish aromatic oil producer Göymen Aromatik Yağ Sanayi has secured COSMOS v4 certification from Ecocert Greenlife for four raw materials, reinforcing its status as a trusted supplier of natural ingredients for cosmetics.
Turkish aromatic oil producer Göymen Aromatik Yağ Sanayi has received COSMOS v4 approval from Ecocert Greenlife for four of its raw materials, strengthening its position as a certified supplier of natural ingredients to the cosmetics industry.
The attestation, issued on 7 July 2026, covers Cedrus libani (Lebanon cedar) oil, Laurus nobilis (bay laurel) oil, Liquidambar orientalis extract and pistachio vera germ extract. All four are classified as 100% physically processed agro ingredients, with the cedarwood oil and pistachio extract also carrying the complementary without animal origin assessment.
The portfolio reflects the biodiversity of the Gaziantep based company’s home region. Liquidambar orientalis, the source of Turkish sweetgum, is native to south west Türkiye, while pistachio is one of Gaziantep’s signature crops. The extracts span fragrance, antimicrobial and skin conditioning functions, with the pistachio germ extract listed for smoothing, moisturising and UV absorbing properties.
COSMOS approval matters because it removes a barrier for formulators. Brands developing COSMOS certified natural and organic products can only build them from approved raw materials, so suppliers without the attestation are effectively locked out of briefs in one of the industry’s fastest growing segments. For Göymen, the approval opens the door to European and international customers who require certified inputs as standard.
It also speaks to a wider shift in ingredient sourcing. As brands look beyond established supply hubs for provenance stories and traceable botanicals, certified suppliers in origin regions such as Türkiye are becoming increasingly attractive partners. Third party verification from bodies like Ecocert gives buyers the assurance they need to bring lesser known regional ingredients, such as Lebanon cedar and Turkish sweetgum, into mainstream formulation.
The attestation is valid until 31 December 2026.
