NEW YORK.- A Dominican man was arrested in connection with the case of a 27-year-old woman who died after receiving an injection of a supposed anti-aging serum at a holistic wellness center in the Bronx.
Luis Rojas Cabrera, 55, was charged with practicing medicine without a license in the United States.
According to authorities, Rojas Cabrera administered the treatment to the victim, identified as Elizabeth Baron, at the Bereshit Lifestyle Center on Riverdale Avenue.
The young woman fainted shortly afterward and was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital, where she died.
Rojas Cabrera faces charges of reckless endangerment and practicing a profession without proper authorization.
On his website, Rojas Cabrera presented himself as a surgeon and naturopath active in the Dominican Republic and a practitioner of alternative and holistic medicine in the United States.
