Editor’s Note

**Editor’s Note:** Hugel’s strategic launch of Letybo in India marks a pivotal step in its global expansion, leveraging the world’s largest population to strengthen its foothold in the Asia-Pacific aesthetic medicine market.

Targeting the World’s Largest Population: India’s Aesthetic Medicine Market

Hugel is accelerating its global expansion by officially launching its botulinum toxin product ‘Letybo’ in India, the world’s most populous country. The company aims to solidify its brand presence in India through expanded academic exchanges and use the country as a base to extend its market influence across the Asia-Pacific region.
Hugel announced Letybo’s official entry into the Indian market by participating in the ‘Global Aesthetics Summit (GAS)’ held from the 19th to the 21st at the Goa Taj Horizon in India.
India, with a population of approximately 1.5 billion, is a key emerging market where demand for aesthetic medicine is rapidly increasing, driven by a fast-growing middle class. The botulinum toxin procedure rate relative to the total population is still in its early stages, indicating immense future growth potential. Hugel has set an initial goal of achieving a 9% market share in the Indian aesthetic market this year, leveraging this high market potential.
At the conference, Hugel participated jointly with its local partner ‘Aakaar Medical’ to build a network of key opinion leaders (KOLs) and enhance brand awareness. Dr. Benjamin Chan, an Australian KOL who served as a speaker, highlighted Letybo’s unique ‘Narrow Diffusion’ property as a clinical strength, emphasizing that it enables precise and predictable procedures.
Hugel plans to continue with a series of exclusive launch events and hands-on workshops for medical professionals with its local distributor until the 24th.

“India is a promising market with very high preference and interest in K-aesthetics,” said Jang Doo-hyun, CEO of Hugel. “We will actively leverage our technology and marketing know-how, which has maintained the No. 1 domestic market share for 10 consecutive years, to develop the Indian market into a next-generation global growth engine.”
