Yonwoo, a Kolmar Korea subsidiary, hosted the industry’s first Packaging Summit, drawing 200 representatives from 100 companies to discuss EU packaging regulation strategies and global quality trends.
Yonwoo, a subsidiary of Kolmar Korea and a specialized cosmetics packaging company, announced on the 21st that it held the ‘Yonwoo Packaging Summit: Packaging Megatrends and Global Quality Strategy Seminar’ at the Kolmar Korea R&D Center.
This event is the first large-scale seminar in the cosmetics industry focused on packaging trends and global quality strategies. Approximately 200 representatives from 100 companies attended, including domestic and international cosmetics brands, ODM/OEM companies, beauty B2B platforms, and packaging and raw material firms.
Since opening its Seongsu-dong showroom ‘Yonwoo Seongsu’ last year, Yonwoo has been operating a monthly ‘PTR (Packaging Trend Report) Briefing Day’. This time, the company expanded the event into a specialized packaging seminar involving the broader industry.
The seminar was planned in response to the European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which takes effect on August 12. It focused on sharing packaging standards and quality management directions for European exports with attendees, providing practical information to respond to global regulatory changes.
PPWR is a packaging regulation directly applicable to all 27 EU member states, focusing on recyclable packaging design and increased use of recycled materials. From 2030, packaging distributed in the EU must meet recyclability standards, with regulations gradually tightening.

Yonwoo plans to regularize packaging trend seminars and quality guide sharing, strengthening communication with clients. The company also aims to expand collaboration with Kolmar Korea to enhance synergy between design, formulation, and packaging development.
Founded in 1983, Yonwoo is a comprehensive cosmetics packaging specialist. It was the first company in Korea to produce dispenser pumps for cosmetics and holds the technological capability to commercialize airless pumps for the first time in the world.
