Editor’s Note
Yeonwoo, a Kolmar Korea subsidiary, hosted the industry’s first ‘Yeonwoo Packaging Summit’ on the 21st, focusing on packaging megatrends and global quality strategies. The seminar addressed 2024 cosmetics packaging trends and preparations for the EU’s upcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), effective next month.
The seminar was organized to examine this year’s cosmetics packaging trends and response measures to the European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which takes effect on the 12th of next month. The PPWR applies to all 27 EU member states and focuses on designing easily recyclable packaging and expanding the use of recycled materials. The event was attended by approximately 200 people from 100 companies, including domestic and international cosmetics brands, ODM/OEM companies, B2B beauty platforms, and packaging and raw material suppliers.
Starting with this seminar, Yeonwoo plans to regularize trend seminars and quality guide sharing to strengthen ongoing communication with its clients. In particular, the company aims to enhance synergy with Kolmar Korea in overall design, formulation, and package development. Since opening its showroom ‘Yeonwoo Seongsu’ in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong in 2024, Yeonwoo has been holding monthly ‘PTR (Packaging Trend Report) Briefing Days.’
