Hugel Targets 9% Share as India’s Aesthetics Market Grows

Hugel Enters Indian Market with Botulinum Toxin ‘Letybo’

Global total medical aesthetics company Hugel, Inc. announced the official entry of its botulinum toxin ‘Letybo’ into the Indian market by participating in the Global Aesthetics Summit (GAS) held at Thai Horizon in Goa, India, from July 19 to July 21.

India has a steadily increasing demand for aesthetic medicine based on the world’s largest population of about 1.5 billion people and a rapidly growing middle class, but the botulinum toxin procedure rate still remains at a low level compared to the total population, making it evaluated as a market with high growth potential. Hugel plans to speed up its initial market settlement with the goal of achieving a 9% share of the Indian aesthetics market this year.

At the GAS conference, Hugel set out to secure brand awareness and build a KOL (Key Opinion Leader) network alongside its local distributor Aakaar Medical. Benjamin Chan, Hugel’s Australian KOL who participated as a speaker, emphasized product differentiation by introducing predictable procedure results through the ‘Narrow Diffusion’ of Letybo.

Hugel plans to sequentially conduct a separate launch event and hands-on workshop with the local distributor until July 24.

“India is a market with very high preference and interest in ‘K-Aesthetics,’ and we plan to actively utilize Hugel’s strength of being the number one toxin in Korea for 10 consecutive years to carry out marketing,” said Hugel CEO Chang Doo-hyun. “We will secure a new global growth engine by leading the expansion of the Indian market.”
