【Taiwan】Wontech Obtains Taiwan Approval for ‘Pastelle Pro’

Editor’s Note

Wontech has received medical device certification for Pastelle Pro in Taiwan, expanding its product lineup in the region. The TFDA approval covers a wide range of non-invasive soft tissue procedures, including lesion treatment, tattoo removal, and hair removal.

Laser and energy-based medical solutions company Wontech (co-CEOs Kim Jong-won and Kim Jung-hyun) has expanded its product lineup by obtaining medical device certification for Pastelle Pro in Taiwan.

Regulatory Approval and Indications

Taiwan’s health authority (TFDA) has approved Pastelle Pro for non-invasive soft tissue procedures including incision, excision, tissue removal, vaporization, coagulation, and hemostasis, as well as treatment of pigmented and vascular lesions, tattoo removal, and hair removal.

The ability to address such a wide range of indications is supported by laser technology that operates at two wavelengths: 532nm and 1064nm. Pastelle Pro can be used not only for aesthetic skin treatments but also across various soft tissue procedures. Its specially designed handpiece allows precise control of irradiation diameter, depth, and energy density, enabling flexible clinical application for multiple indications.

Market Context and Growth Potential

Taiwan has a vibrant non-invasive aesthetic dermatology market, underpinned by high medical standards and strong demand for medical aesthetics. The market for energy-based devices such as lasers, RF, and HIFU is expected to grow in tandem with rising demand for non-surgical procedures. Global market research firm Frost & Sullivan estimates that Taiwan’s medical aesthetics service market reached approximately $2.4 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 9.1% through 2030.

Company Strategy and Expansion

In May, Wontech held its global brand event ‘Wave Taiwan’ in Taiwan, featuring academic lectures and product exhibitions centered on Oligio X, Tightan, Picocare Majesty, and Pico Alex. With the Pastelle Pro approval, the company aims to broaden its product portfolio in Taiwan and accelerate its market penetration.

“The strong interest from local medical professionals we observed at ‘Wave Taiwan’ in May has now translated into this Pastelle Pro certification,” a Wontech representative said. “We will continue to expand our engagement with medical professionals through academic exchanges and build a stable growth foundation in the Taiwan market.”
