【United Kingd】Harper Beckham’s Cosmetic Brand Name Incident

Editor’s Note

**Editor’s Note:** This article has been updated to reflect the official name change of Harper Beckham’s upcoming cosmetics line, following the rejection of the initial trademark application in the U.S. market.

Harper Beckham’s Cosmetic Brand Name Incident

The brand name for Victoria Beckham’s daughter’s cosmetics line has been revealed as “Harlow By Harper,” after her first choice was rejected for licensing in the U.S. market.
Harper Beckham, the 15-year-old daughter of David and Victoria Beckham, is actively preparing for her debut in the beauty market in 2027. Harper’s personal skincare brand directly targets Gen Z and Gen Alpha customers.
Initially, the Beckham family registered the trademark “HIKU BY Harper” in the UK in October. However, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office initially rejected the application due to concerns of confusion with existing trademarks. The word “Harper” is associated with brooms and brushes, while “Hiku” overlaps with perfumes and personal care products.

New Brand Name and Product Focus

To overcome this issue, Harper’s team devised a new plan. A source told The Sun: “Harper has been working with the team for a while, and they have settled on the name ‘Harlow By Harper.’ The trademark application is now complete. The goal is to officially launch the brand sometime next year.” While details of the product line remain under wraps, the source revealed the range will focus on facial cleansers, moisturizers, and acne treatments for teenagers.
The idea for this startup stemmed from Harper’s personal experience. In a recent podcast episode, Victoria Beckham revealed that her daughter went through a difficult period with severe acne caused by using too many unsuitable cosmetics.

“Harper told me she wanted to create her own brand because she knew exactly what she needed and didn’t want other young people to go through what she did,” Victoria said.

The former Spice Girl added that Harper prepared very elaborate presentations to convince her mother to support the project.

Family Support and Early Planning

The youngest Beckham child has received unwavering support from her parents in her business venture. Victoria, who recently achieved impressive sales figures and raised the value of her own fashion and beauty brand to $100 million, is her daughter’s direct mentor.

In fact, the family has planned Harper’s business career since she was young. When Harper was just five years old, Victoria registered her daughter’s name as a trademark for a wide range of products, from cosmetics and toys to clothing. This is considered a pioneering move by the Beckham family to protect their children’s personal brands from the influence of media and social networks.
