【Incheon, Sou】”Scalp with AI, Pelvis with Devices” – A Look at the 2026 Beauty & Healthcare Show

Editor’s Note

This article highlights Aram Huvis’ latest AI scalp diagnosis system, AISG, developed with Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, showcasing portable devices for skin and scalp analysis.

AI Diagnosis and Customized Solutions

The first booth that drew attention was that of beauty tech company Aram Huvis. Founded in 2002, Aram Huvis has been developing skin, hair, and scalp diagnostic devices for over 20 years. In collaboration with Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, it unveiled the AI scalp diagnosis system ‘AISG (AI Scalp Grader)’. The portable wireless skin and scalp diagnostic devices are divided into the lens-integrated API and the lens-separable ASL models. Using a high-performance image sensor, they capture scalp density, thickness, sebum levels, erythema, and sensitivity. AI analyzes this data in real-time, classifying the scalp into 10 types and recommending the company’s own beauty brand shampoos, serums, and cosmetics to address the highest priority issues first.

“The AI scalp analysis result shows a sensitive type.”

When a diagnostic device the size of a remote control with a lens touched the scalp, individual hair follicles appeared magnified on the screen. After six captures, the result was displayed. It took just over 10 seconds to get numerical data on hair density, oiliness, and sensitivity. No hospital or specialist was needed. This was the scene at the ‘2026 Beauty & Healthcare Show’ on July 23.
The 2026 Beauty & Healthcare Show is a K-beauty and healthcare specialized business exhibition hosted by Incheon City and co-organized by the Incheon Tourism Organization and World Exhibition, held at Songdo Convensia in Incheon. Now in its 11th year, the exhibition featured 190 domestic and international companies. While most booths were cosmetics-focused, the diagnostic and correction device booths scattered among them drew particularly long queues for trials. The offerings spanned a wide spectrum, from officially certified medical devices to beauty tech and wellness devices without certification but promoting ‘health’ as a keyword.

From Diagnosis to Adjustment by AI

A staff member at the Aram Huvis booth conducted the scan by placing the diagnostic device on various parts of the scalp. Immediately after the scan, the scalp condition appeared as a graph on the screen. The diagnosis indicated a sensitive scalp type. Hair density was moderate, and hair thickness was thinner than average. The results were color-coded for easy understanding even by non-experts.
Based on these results, the consultant immediately guided the visitor on which products to use and in what order. It was a seamless experience where diagnosis and prescription flowed without interruption. The company also explained that it operates a service to produce and deliver personalized shampoos or cosmetics based on the diagnosis results.
The booth of healthcare company Alcanine was one of the busiest at the exhibition, with a constant stream of visitors trying out their products. Despite requiring a lying-down position, the booth remained continuously occupied. Common modern ailments such as straight neck, turtle neck, herniated discs, and shoulder pain were listed on one side of the booth, drawing even more attention.
Alcanine’s Dr. Physio MC-9 is an automatic traction-based cervical correction device. This product is officially registered with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as an electric pneumatic orthopedic traction device and infrared irradiator (Class 2 medical device).

“Three pistons move to relax the cervical vertebrae, press the trapezius muscles to release tension, and then perform traction,” explained a booth staff member. “It has an AI weight measurement sensor that adjusts the traction intensity differently for each person.”

I tried the new product with added near-infrared function for about 20 minutes. I was worried about pain during the process due to my usual straight neck, but perhaps because the AI automatically controlled the weight, I didn’t feel any discomfort. Instead, I felt my neck muscles gradually and gently relax. After the session, my neck and shoulders felt noticeably lighter. This is a personal impression from a short trial, and effects may vary.

Balance Confirmed by the Body

At the booth of healthcare company Laban, staff in sportswear actively encouraged visitors to try their products. A large sign read ‘Pelvic Muscle Exercise’. The product attracted interest not only from women but also from male visitors.
Slahip, developed directly by Laban CEO Jeon Yoo-ri, a trainer with 18 years of experience, was introduced as a pelvic floor muscle strengthening solution. A Laban representative explained,

“Many people need to strengthen their adductor muscles but don’t know how. Instead of lying down and spreading legs or pulling bands, this device is designed to achieve exercise effects simply by sitting and bringing the legs together.”

A key strength is its durability, using ‘Hyva Glass’ material (typically used for helmets) to withstand load tests of over 100kg.
I stood on the Slahip and followed the movements. Unlike typical home training equipment, just the act of bringing the legs together automatically corrected my posture. It felt like a device designed to make an expert’s exercise know-how accessible to anyone.
Launched in July 2024, Slahip is used not only by individuals but also in rehabilitation and Pilates centers. According to Laban, Slahip has been exported to Taiwan and Hong Kong, and entry into the Mexican market is under discussion.
At the entrance of the booth of health appliance company Woldin, test markings were drawn on the floor. A simple test involved closing one’s eyes and marching in place 50 times to see which direction the body veered. This attracted a steady stream of visitors.
This booth allowed visitors to try the Tune-Hip, a core-focused massage device developed by Woldin. The Tune-Hip is designed as a chair where users can sit and use Kegel vibrations, pelvic pressure massage, and far-infrared heat functions individually or simultaneously. One visitor commented,

“It felt more refreshing than a famous premium massage chair.”
Changes Just by Wearing

The Nuri Eye booth attracted visitors with the phrase, “Eyes become clear in 10 minutes.” According to Seodong Medical, Nuri Eye is a product that has received official approval as a medical device for treating dry eye syndrome, with safety and efficacy verified through clinical trials. It is developed and produced by Seodong Medical and also exported overseas.
I tried on the Nuri Eye device, which looks like a pair of glasses. The trial lasted about 15 minutes. I gradually felt warmth around my eyes, followed by a gentle wrapping sensation around the eyelids.
Seodong Medical CEO Kim Chang-on introduced the product, saying,

“There must be no electromagnetic waves around the eyes. Pressure on the eyeball can lead to glaucoma. This product was developed with optimal temperature, vibration, and air pressure all within safe ranges. It is also comfortable to wear.”

Health and beauty company Healthy Bio showcased its product for the first time at this exhibition. The Skin Haya Sleep Recovery Mask, launched this year after three years of development and verification, utilizes bio-technology incorporating silver components and far-infrared rays. Although available in only one standard size, it is made with stretchable material for universal fit and is semi-permanently reusable.
Healthy Bio CEO Kim Sang-woo explained,

“We approach not beauty, but the restoration of the skin’s essence. Inspired by the fact that skin regenerates during sleep, we chose a method that aids regeneration without irritating the skin, unlike cosmetics or devices.”

He added,

“We are also preparing wearable application products for the future.”
Showcasing Technology, But Verification is Key

The technologies encountered at this exhibition shared a common message: ‘Identify your body’s issues with your own hands and eyes first, not at the hospital.’ The flow was designed so that visitors could directly see and feel everything from scalp diagnosis to exercise posture and mask comfort before moving on to purchase or consultation.
Seeing established diagnostic solutions with long-standing technological expertise and newly emerging brands side-by-side in the same exhibition hall confirmed that the base of the K-beauty and healthcare industry is broadening.
However, it is worth noting that the approach of making visitors feel efficacy through a short trial may not reflect actual long-term effects. The fact that products with official MFDS medical device certification and those without certification but claiming ‘health’ benefits are mixed in the same space without clear distinction is something visitors should be cautious about.
Meanwhile, the 2026 Beauty & Healthcare Show runs until July 25.
