**Editor’s Note:** Dongkook Pharmaceutical expands its professional skincare portfolio with the launch of ‘Madeca Labs’, a dermacosmeceutical brand co-developed with dermatologists, targeting hospital and clinic channels.
Dongkook Pharmaceutical has launched the medical science-based dermacosmeceutical brand ‘Madeca Labs’, co-developed with dermatologists, targeting the professional skincare market for hospitals and clinics. Following its existing dermacosmetic brand ‘Centellian24’, the company aims to expand its high-functional cosmetics business, focusing on medical professional channels.
Dongkook Pharmaceutical announced that it has officially begun developing the hospital and clinic-based high-functional skincare brand ‘Madeca Labs’ together with a dermatologist advisory board. New products are being developed with a target launch in the first half of 2027.
‘Madeca Labs’ is planned as a dermacosmeceutical brand for strengthening the skin barrier, managing sensitive skin, providing home care after dermatological procedures, and improving skin condition. The company intends to combine Dongkook Pharmaceutical’s R&D capabilities with the clinical experience of dermatologists to introduce a product line specialized for medical professional channels.
To this end, Dongkook Pharmaceutical launched a dermacosmeceutical advisory board in June, consisting of five dermatologists. The advisory board includes Dr. Yoon Choon-sik (Yemiwon Dermatology), Dr. Park Ji-ho (Oaro Dermatology), Dr. Park Young-woon (Villad Skin Dermatology), Dr. Lee Mi-hye (Leewon Dermatology), and Dr. Kim Sang-yeop (JF Cell Dermatology).
The advisory board participates in the entire process from the early stages of product development, including core ingredient selection, formulation development, and sensory evaluation. Dongkook Pharmaceutical plans to advance research on the skin mechanism of action and optimal formulation based on TECA (Centella Asiatica standardized extract), a key ingredient derived from centella asiatica.
Since entering the cosmetics business in 2015 with the launch of the dermacosmetic brand ‘Centellian24’, Dongkook Pharmaceutical has expanded its medical professional channels by operating the hospital and clinic-exclusive brand ‘Madeca MD’. The company plans to continue expanding the ‘Madeca MD’ product line while gradually strengthening its hospital and clinic-centered dermacosmeceutical business through the new brand ‘Madeca Labs’.
