Development of ‘Non-Medical Professional Needle-Free Scalp Care Device’

JSK Biomedical Co., Ltd. (CEO Jin-woo Jeon, hereinafter JSK Biomedical), which holds the needle-free drug delivery platform ‘MIRAJET’, signed a business agreement (MOU) on the 23rd with Qustem Co., Ltd. (CEO Ki-won Ban), which possesses hiPSC (human induced pluripotent stem cell)-based high-concentration dermal papilla cell culture technology, for cooperation in the next-generation scalp care solution business.

This MOU was established for both companies to commercialize an integrated solution by having JSK Biomedical newly develop a ‘non-medical professional needle-free scalp care device’ based on the needle-free delivery technology accumulated through the MIRAJET platform, and delivering Qustem’s high-concentration dermal papilla cell culture fluid in a form optimized for this device.

Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop devices and ampoules optimized for B2B channels, including specialized institutions such as hospitals and clinics, and B2C channels centered on home care. They also plan to jointly conduct tests and evaluations on local delivery efficiency and absorption characteristics through the needle-free delivery method.

Recently, in the bio-based scalp care market, the importance of ‘delivery technology’ to maximize the efficacy of high-concentration bio-materials is growing. High-concentration stem cell culture fluid can significantly enhance the absorption rate and utilization of active ingredients when combined with appropriate delivery technology, making the combination of bio-materials and next-generation devices a new trend attracting industry attention.

JSK Biomedical is a company with technological competitiveness applicable to various liquid formulations based on the needle-free delivery technology platform ‘MIRAJET’. Under this agreement, JSK Biomedical will develop and supply a MIRAJET-based non-medical professional needle-free scalp care device optimized for Qustem’s ampoule specifications and will pursue joint promotions utilizing the existing MIRAJET customer network (hospitals, clinics, etc.). Qustem will develop and supply hiPSC-based high-concentration dermal papilla cell culture fluid ampoules, provide certified data such as clinical trials and papers supporting the efficacy of the ampoules, and handle sales expansion through home shopping and online/offline channels.
