Editor's note

This deal signals a strategic bet on 'treatment-inspired' skincare, a high-growth niche. For buyers, it underscores the rising consumer demand for clinical efficacy in luxury products. The key regulatory question is how 111SKIN's medical-claim-driven marketing will be scrutinized globally. Supply-chain risk appears low, given the brand's established global presence.

The Estée Lauder Companies has made a minority investment in 111SKIN, a London-based luxury skincare brand founded by plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Yannis Alexandrides. Dr. Alexandrides will remain actively involved in the business and continue to lead the brand alongside its existing management team. Established in 2012, 111SKIN was initially developed to support post-procedure recovery for Dr. Alexandrides’ patients. Central to its product range is NAC Y², a proprietary complex designed to support skin repair and promote resilience and radiance. The brand has since expanded to a portfolio of more than 30 products, including its Black Diamond and Reparative collections, with prices ranging from approximately $50 to $1,000. It has a global presence, with North America contributing around 40% of projected 2025 sales, alongside established operations in China, the UK, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. "We are thrilled to be partnering with The Estée Lauder Companies and to unlock an exciting new chapter for 111SKIN," said Dr. Yannis and Eva Alexandrides, co-founders of 111SKIN. "We look forward to building on our momentum and driving future growth together," added CEO Vanessa Goddevrind.

The investment aligns with The Estée Lauder Companies’ broader focus on science-led innovation, reflecting increasing consumer interest in high-performance and preventative skincare solutions. Stéphane de La Faverie, President and Chief Executive Officer at The Estée Lauder Companies, said: "Skincare is entering a new phase, shaped by the convergence of procedures, longevity and beauty, as consumers increasingly seek products that deliver visible, treatment-inspired results. 111SKIN exemplifies this shift, translating Dr. Alexandrides’ more than 35 years of surgical and aesthetic treatment experience into high-performance luxury skin care inspired by in-clinic treatments and built on clinical insight, next-generation actives, powerful formulas and proven efficacy. This investment, grounded in consumer-centricity and transformative innovation, reflects our Beauty Reimagined vision and underscores the significant opportunity we see to support the brand’s continued growth – expanding its global reach while preserving the distinctive approach that has made it so relevant with today’s consumers."
