Editor's note

This exclusive OEM deal with US distributor EMAGE Medical signals strong buyer relevance for Hironic's RF platform, but the two-year term starting May 2026 and FDA-linked minimum purchase adjustments highlight regulatory and supply-chain risks.

Hironic (CEO Lee Jin-woo), a medical aesthetics device company, announced on May 15 that it has signed an exclusive supply agreement with US medical device distributor EMAGE Medical for its 'Next-Generation RF Combination Platform' in the United States. The agreement is structured as an OEM arrangement, effective for two years from May 2026, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement.

EMAGE Medical, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, specializes in medical device distribution and holds dedicated medical aesthetics channels in the US. Under the contract, EMAGE Medical will have exclusive sales and distribution rights across the US, supplying Hironic's platform equipment under a locally customized brand.

The agreement includes annual minimum purchase quantities. Hironic stated that this ensures the partner's active sales efforts, while adjustments to minimum purchase obligations are allowed based on regulatory changes such as FDA approval timelines, balancing risk management for both parties.

Hironic will support the US brand launch through technical and regulatory collaboration with EMAGE Medical, and plans to build clinical case data and key opinion leader (KOL) networks.

The 'Next-Generation RF Combination Platform' integrates RF (radiofrequency) and Cold Plasma technologies into a single device. It features five handpieces—RF microneedling, Cold Plasma, and Circle monopolar RF—supporting diverse clinical applications including skin lifting, tightening, scar and wrinkle improvement, and women's health. The sequential combination protocol of RF microneedling and Cold Plasma is designed to enhance collagen activation while minimizing post-procedure inflammation, according to the company.

A Hironic representative said, "This exclusive supply agreement with the US, the world's largest medical aesthetics market, signifies that our technology has gained global recognition. We will continue to strengthen our technological capabilities and expand partnerships to enhance our competitiveness in the medical aesthetics market."
