Editor's note

This selection signals strong government backing for Lameditech's AI and laser platform, raising buyer relevance for clinics seeking integrated skin analysis and drug delivery. The regulatory question remains on how the LADD platform will be classified, while supply-chain risks hinge on miniaturized laser component sourcing.

Lameditech, a laser aesthetic and medical device specialist, announced on the 18th that it has been selected for the 'K-Beauty' sub-project under the 'SME Technology Innovation Development Project' organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

The project aims to develop a smart skin evaluation device supporting personalized skin analysis deep learning and a miniaturized fractional Er:YAG laser aesthetic device. Through this project, Lameditech plans to advance the development of a laser-assisted drug delivery (LADD) system combining AI skin analysis technology with ultra-compact fractional Er:YAG laser technology.

Lameditech is pursuing a strategy to expand LADD beyond a single laser device into an open drug delivery platform capable of accommodating various biomaterials and skin boosters.

A Lameditech representative stated, 'This project selection marks a significant milestone for Lameditech to evolve from a simple laser medical and aesthetic device company into an AI-based laser drug delivery platform company.' The representative added, 'We will expand the LADD platform business through market entry into the medical skin aesthetic sector in the second half of this year, commercialization of the laser drug delivery platform next year, and technology advancement by 2028.'
