Industry sources and company reports signal a strategic pivot by South Korean medical aesthetics firms like Wontech and Classys into home beauty devices, targeting a rapidly growing global market. For buyers, this shift from B2B to B2C models introduces new consumer-grade products, but regulatory questions around at-home safety and efficacy remain key supply-chain risks.

South Korean medical device companies specializing in aesthetic treatments are expanding into the home beauty device market, aiming to capture new revenue streams from consumers beyond hospitals and clinics.

According to industry sources on May 27, 2026, leading domestic medical aesthetics firms such as Wontech and Classys are actively eyeing the home beauty sector. These companies are moving beyond professional devices used by doctors in medical settings to develop product lines for at-home skincare.

Wontech, known for its RF-based lifting device 'Oligio' and laser systems like 'Lavieen', has traditionally focused on high-end professional equipment. Its 2025 business report shows revenue breakdown: general electrosurgical units (including Oligio) 37.6%, Nd:YAG laser surgical units (including Lavieen) 30.7%, and disposable electrodes for electrosurgery 24.1%.

Recently, Wontech secured 75 billion KRW (approx. USD 56 million) through convertible bonds from PACM Private Equity and PACM Asset Management. The funds will be used for home beauty device development and mass production, building a medical skincare product line, and expanding domestic and international marketing and distribution channels. Wontech aims to shift from a B2B-centric model to direct consumer engagement, starting with its first home care product 'OligiHome' and expanding into cosmetics development in partnership with major Korean ODM firms.

Classys, known for its HIFU device 'Shurink', entered the home beauty market with 'Shurink Home Lifting to Glow' launched domestically in late 2025. Earlier in 2024, it had introduced 'Bolium' as its first home care device, based on its monopolar RF technology from 'Volnewmer'. In Q1 2026, Classys reported home care sales of 2.065 billion KRW (approx. USD 1.5 million), accounting for 2.37% of total revenue, while professional medical device sales (domestic and international) reached 84.864 billion KRW (97.35%). Given the lower price point and early stage, this is seen as a notable achievement.

Both companies leverage their expertise in professional device development and regulatory approvals as competitive advantages. With global sales accounting for 49.5% (Wontech) and 66.7% (Classys) of total revenue in 2025, they are expected to pursue overseas expansion for home beauty products.

The global home beauty device market is projected to grow from approximately 7 trillion KRW (approx. USD 5.2 billion) in 2024 to 45 trillion KRW (approx. USD 33.6 billion) by 2030, at a CAGR of 36%, according to Meritz Securities Research Center. The US market is expected to grow from 1.9 trillion KRW to 9.7 trillion KRW, and China from 1 trillion KRW to 9.2 trillion KRW, emerging as key battlegrounds.
