Samyang Biopharm announced Wednesday the official launch of its proprietary polymer-based dermal filler, Lafullen, in Thailand, marking its entry into the country’s rapidly expanding aesthetic medicine market.
The company recently hosted a launch event in Bangkok to introduce Lafullen to local practitioners and begin broader commercialization in the region.
First released in 2022, Lafullen primarily uses polycaprolactone (PCL), a biodegradable medical polymer. The filler provides volumizing effects while also acting as a biostimulator that promotes collagen production, delivering longer-lasting, natural-looking results with minimal foreign-body sensation after injection.
Its clinical value has been supported by studies published in international journals listed in the Science Citation Index (SCI), demonstrating long-term efficacy and reinforcing the product’s competitiveness.
Samyang Biopharm selected Thailand because of its strategic role as a regional hub for medical tourism and aesthetic procedures. Thailand’s aesthetic market was estimated at $1.4 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow at an annual rate of 12 percent, driven mainly by demand for non-surgical cosmetic treatments. The dermal filler segment alone is expected to expand from $92.6 million in 2025 to $240 million by 2033.
Last Friday, a local partner organized the “LAFULLEN Grand Launch” event, which drew about 150 physicians. The program introduced Lafullen’s core ingredients -- PCL and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) -- while highlighting their mechanisms, differentiating features and clinical advantages.
Presentations also covered practical treatment techniques using biostimulators, including optimal injection sites. The event concluded with a panel discussion in which experienced clinicians answered questions based on both research findings and real-world practice.
Following its Thailand debut, Samyang Biopharm plans to expand globally. The company already holds regulatory approvals in Indonesia, Taiwan and Argentina, and is exploring opportunities in China, Brazil and Europe.
The company said it will continue promoting the product through academic conferences and physician education. In February, it hosted a symposium at the IMCAS World Congress 2026 in Paris featuring Lafullen and Croquis procedures.
“Lafullen is a polymer-based filler developed through Samyang Biopharm’s proprietary materials research and patented technologies,” a company official said. “We aim to strengthen global marketing efforts based on the product’s efficacy and safety and expand our presence in the global aesthetic market.”
Samyang Biopharm has been expanding its aesthetic portfolio around Lafullen and Croquis. Croquis is a lifting thread made from polydioxanone (PDO), a biodegradable material that naturally dissolves in the body over time. Developed using the company’s expertise in absorbable suture materials, Croquis received CE certification in Europe upon its launch in 2019, demonstrating the product’s technological capabilities and safety.
