Editor's note

This recall, triggered by a provincial health department order after lab tests flagged pH non-compliance, signals a regulatory crackdown on cosmetic quality in Vietnam. Buyers should verify batch numbers and prioritize products with clear origins to avoid supply-chain risks from substandard goods.

The Lam Dong Department of Health has issued a notice suspending the circulation and recalling a batch of Green Tea Serum Face Wash (100ml) manufactured and distributed by Nhat Viet Cosmetics Production and Trading Co., Ltd., based in Ho Chi Minh City, due to substandard quality. The affected product bears batch number 04, with a manufacturing date of September 15, 2025, and an expiration date of September 15, 2028. The recall was triggered after laboratory testing revealed that the sample failed to meet quality standards for pH levels. The Department of Health requires all businesses and cosmetic users in the province to immediately stop distributing and using the aforementioned product. They must also recall and return the product to the distributor and report the results to the Department of Health by June 14, 2026, if they are found to be trading or using this batch. The Lam Dong Regional Center for Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Testing is strengthening its monitoring of cosmetic quality, collecting samples for testing across the province, and specifically reviewing products that have had their circulation suspended.
