The move comes roughly one year after Medytox secured Thai FDA approval for its next-generation toxin, Neurux, in December 2024, signaling a strategic effort to build a local prescriber base.

Training event details

On March 18, Medytox held an M.LAB seminar at its Global Business Center for 15 Thai doctors. The program covered lectures and live demonstrations on its HA filler Artiere and affiliate Numecco's botulinum toxin Neurux. Dr. Hwang Jung-ho from IH Clinic presented product characteristics, latest trends in Korea's medical aesthetics market, and anatomical considerations for combined toxin-filler procedures, followed by practical demonstrations.

Thailand as a strategic market

Thailand ranks as Asia's fourth-largest beauty market after China, Japan, and South Korea, making it a critical hub for K-toxin companies. Medytox has a strong foothold there: its first-generation toxin Meditoxin has been the No.1 product since 2013, and its filler Neuramis is a key local line. Two variants of Artiere received Thai approval in November 2024, expanding its filler portfolio.

Competitive landscape intensifies

Competition is heating up. Daewoong Pharmaceutical signed a 73.8 billion won export deal for Nabota with Thai partner Montana Marketing in June 2024—triple the value of its 2020 contract. Hugel is targeting local doctors through academic marketing, exhibiting Botulax and the HA filler The Chaeum at the DST annual congress in Bangkok in March. Jetema is also pursuing toxin approval in Thailand. Medytox's M.LAB approach, directly training medical staff, stands out as a differentiation strategy.

Neurux global momentum

Neurux has sold out initial shipments in Thailand and Peru and is now receiving reorders. This export success helped Medytox post Q3 2024 revenue of 61 billion won (up 13.3% year-on-year) and operating profit of 8.9 billion won (up 48.3%), beating market estimates. Neurux now holds approvals in five countries—Peru, Thailand, Georgia, Bolivia, and Moldova—and is pursuing approvals in about 20 more.
