Editor's note

This piece signals new sourcing opportunities for overseas distributors and clinic buyers, as Ahn Gook Pharm expands into aesthetic devices and injectables. The company's multi-channel distribution strategy and pharmacy network expertise present potential partnership avenues, though buyers should monitor regulatory approvals for its filler and device pipeline.

South Korean pharmaceutical firm Ahn Gook Pharm has established its Health & Beauty (H&B) division as a key growth driver, with Q1 2025 H&B revenue surging 135.72% year-on-year. The company is now preparing to enter the medical aesthetics sector, including aesthetic devices and injectables, signaling new sourcing opportunities for overseas distributors and clinic buyers.

H&B revenue surge and strategic shift

Ahn Gook Pharm reported Q1 2025 consolidated revenue of KRW 98.9 billion (approx. USD 74 million) and operating profit of KRW 16 billion, up 30.59% and 173.53% respectively year-on-year. H&B segment revenue reached KRW 8.7 billion, accounting for 8.77% of total sales, compared to 4.86% in Q1 2024. The company attributes this growth to a multi-channel distribution strategy linking offline retailers (Daiso, Olive Young) with its own mall and e-commerce platforms.

Expansion into aesthetic devices and injectables

Ahn Gook Pharm has formed a dedicated medical aesthetics business unit and is preparing to enter the fields of aesthetic devices, injectables, and cosmetic surgery-related products. In March 2025, the company amended its corporate purpose to include the development, manufacturing, and sale of plastic surgery-related preparations and biomedical products. It has also filed trademarks for filler products ("Verafil"), medical filler devices ("Verapieran"), and cosmetic R&D ("Age Beauty Lab").

Skincare brand launch and pharmacy channel push

In November 2024, the company launched skincare brand "Rejuvenoderma," featuring Korea's first plant-derived PDRN combined with EGF. It has signed business agreements with regional pharmacy associations to target the pharmacy cosmetics market. Additional cosmetic trademarks such as "Rigenaum" and "Tobicom" have been secured.

What buyers should watch

Overseas importers and distributors should monitor Ahn Gook Pharm's pipeline of aesthetic devices and injectables, particularly filler-related products under the Verafil and Verapieran brands. The company's multi-channel B2C experience and pharmacy network expertise could offer partnership opportunities for clinic buyers seeking reliable supply chains in Korea's growing medical aesthetics market.
