Editor's note

This move signals growing opportunities for overseas buyers to source high-concentration, high-purity active ingredient products through established retail channels. Distributors and clinic buyers should monitor WELLAGE's offline retail traction in North America as a signal of growing consumer acceptance for Korean clinical cosmetics.

Hugel's clinical cosmetics brand WELLAGE has entered Olive Young's first U.S. offline store in Pasadena, California, marking its first brick-and-mortar retail foothold in the U.S. as the Korean medical aesthetics company accelerates its North American expansion. This move signals growing opportunities for overseas buyers to source high-concentration, high-purity active ingredient products through established retail channels.

Market Signal

Hugel said WELLAGE completed its entry into the Olive Young store in Pasadena on May 29, expanding its offline consumer touchpoint in the U.S. market. The brand will introduce nine core products at the U.S. Olive Young store, including its flagship Real Hyaluronic Blue 100 Ampoule. The lineup consists of six products from the Real Hyaluronic line, two from the Cica Calming line and one product from the PDRN line, all featuring high-concentration and high-purity active ingredients, according to the company.

Channel Performance

The U.S. store entry follows WELLAGE's performance in Korea through its strategic partnership with Olive Young. The Real Hyaluronic Blue 100 Ampoule won the essence and serum category at last year's Olive Young Awards and has continued to rank among the top-selling products in the channel. This track record indicates strong consumer demand that could translate to other markets.

Global Expansion

WELLAGE had previously entered Amazon, the largest online shopping platform in the U.S., and Costco Canada. The brand is now available in 12 countries worldwide. Backed by the expansion of its global distribution channels, WELLAGE has shown rapid overseas growth. Its overseas sales from January to April increased about 95 percent from a year earlier, Hugel said.

What Buyers Should Watch

Distributors and clinic buyers should monitor WELLAGE's offline retail traction in North America as a signal of growing consumer acceptance for Korean clinical cosmetics. The brand's entry into Olive Young's U.S. store, combined with its Amazon and Costco presence, creates multiple sourcing and partnership opportunities for importers seeking clinically positioned aesthetic products with proven sales performance.

“The entry into Olive Young's U.S. store is meaningful because it expands our offline distribution network from Costco Canada to the U.S. mainland and broadens consumer touchpoints in North America,” a Hugel official said. “Based on WELLAGE's clinical technology, we will quickly expand brand awareness and consumer access in the global market.”
