The Korea Medical Devices Industry Association (KMDIA) has wrapped up the 2026 K Med Expo & Saigon Int'l Meditech Show in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, drawing 80 exhibitors and over 6,600 visitors. The event, held from June 4 to 6 at the SECC Exhibition and Convention Center, generated more than USD 1 million in on-site contracts, signaling strong demand for Korean medical and aesthetic devices in the Vietnamese market.
Record-breaking participation and business outcomes
Co-organized with KINTEX, the fourth edition of K Med Expo featured joint pavilions from local governments and agencies including the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon Technopark, G Valley Medical Device Development Support Center, Daegu Gyeongbuk Advanced Medical Industry Promotion Foundation, and Wonju Medical Device Industry Promotion Agency. The exhibition showcased a wide range of products from diagnostic and surgical equipment to dermatology and aesthetic devices, along with consumables, highlighting the technological capabilities and competitiveness of Korea's medical device industry. Over three days, approximately 6,600 visitors, including local medical institution representatives and buyers, attended the event. On-site contracts exceeded USD 1 million, demonstrating tangible business results.

Export consultation and contract achievements
The event featured B2B buyer invitation programs for local doctors and hospital staff, participant company showcases targeting Vietnamese buyers, and a two-day KOTRA export consultation session. These activities resulted in KRW 94 billion (approx. USD 71 million) in export consultations and KRW 50.7 billion (approx. USD 38 million) in contract promotion outcomes. Additionally, on-site MOUs led to over USD 1 million in actual contracts.
High-level participation and regulatory insights
The opening ceremony was attended by senior officials from 13 key organizations, including the Vietnam Medical Device Authority (VIMDA), Hue Central Hospital, Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, KOTRA, and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). The association also hosted a Korea-Vietnam Medical Device Regulatory Trends Seminar, where Vietnamese regulatory authorities, local medical institutions, and legal experts shared updates on Vietnam's medical device approval procedures, insurance listing systems, and the latest regulatory trends. This session provided practical knowledge for Korean companies seeking to enter the local market.

What buyers should watch
For overseas importers, distributors, and clinic buyers, K Med Expo 2026 confirms that Korean medical and aesthetic device manufacturers are actively targeting the Vietnamese market with competitive products spanning diagnostics, surgery, dermatology, and consumables. The strong turnout and contract volumes suggest growing buyer appetite for Korean technology. Distributors and clinic operators in Southeast Asia should monitor KMDIA's upcoming events and consider direct engagement with Korean suppliers to secure early access to innovative devices and consumables. KMDIA Chairman Kim Young-min stated, "This K Med Expo is significant in that Korean medical device companies met directly with Vietnamese buyers and medical institution representatives to introduce their technology and product competitiveness and discover practical business opportunities. The association will continue to strengthen on-site support to expand our companies' overseas market entry."
